My Billy Talent Gig

Posted by BlazingAce Oct. 26, 2009 @ 4:11 PM EDT

Woah.

In all honesty I'd never been to a proper "Rock and Roll" concert. If any of you get the chance, take it, Billy Talents was awesome. Here's what happened.

October the 23rd 2009

Basically at 2.00 pm, Me, Sean, Ryan, Lee and Fraser met at the band stand in Dock Park. From there, we left with Borderlands in hand, ;) and travelled to Mikeys for another controller. Once we got another controller, we returned to Fraser's and played Guitar Hero and Borderlands for an hour or so and at one point Fraser became increasingly angry at my music choice and accidently Curmina Burana came on. Listening to that and looking at an angry Fraser had us all laughing. At 4.00pm we left Fraser's house in his father's car and our journey began from Dumfries to Glasgow. Me and Sean were in the boot of the car, Lee and Ryan at the middle seats, Lee being on my side of the car and Ryan, Sean's and Fraser on the passenger's seat, his father driving. A short three minutes later the fun began.

Before we left the house, I pointed out a plush "Stitch"from the disney film Lelo and stitch. Now after playing with it, Sean turned to Ryan, grinning and said, "I'm going to make this trip a living hell for you," and held stitch at Ryan. Thus the Stitch attacks began. Soon 2 minutes later, we were still stuck at the bridge where Sean began tormenting Ryan with the toy. Sean decided to make things more fun and began to hold stitch at the boot window behind us and hide behind the chair. He began making stitch dance to the "happ" drivers behind. The traffic began moving and we began driving down the bridge. The 30 metre long bridge. D: Yeah, we still weren't out of the town. The kid in the car behind us was however becoming increasingly joyous at Seans dancing stitch, the unhappy van driver went the other way and thus they were now behind us. I stuck in my I pod and began listening to it. For 15 minutes. D: The overnight Charging for it didn't help. So as such we began more pointless stuff. Mooning people with stitch. :D I joked to Sean that our good ol' depressed Fraser would probably have a fit of happiness if he saw a train, becoming as ecstatic as a school child. Pretty mean of me, and I guess what happened next was punishment. Funny though.

A train passed beside us, I shouted at Fraser and told him, he didn't seem to bothered, Sean kept shouting at Ryan whilst attack him with stitch. Me smiling looked at the window beside, looking out to the train. We hit a bump or hole of some sort and ended up banging my chin badly and bursting my lip. Oh sweet irony. >.>

We arrived at about 6 o'clock. After drinking relentless we were all raring to go. Haha! We laughed as we passed a pink car that had been forced to stay there by the traffic warden, a metal triangle was placed on one of the wheels. Living in a town, you don't see that often, this was the city. So we began walking towards McDonalds. Random outbursts and glee over T.J Hughes and Argos became frequent. Yes we do have them in the town, two infact and one T.J Hughes. We arrived at McDonalds. Walking in, there path to go to the counter was about three times the length of our McDonald's. Anyway I was first to order, everyone got burgers and five minutes later I was still waiting for Chicken McNuggets. We came, we ate, we conquered. Our hunger. We left again and arrived at the Barrowlands at 10 to 7. Right before our concert at 7 O'clock. I leading walked at the side of the line looking for the end, turning to Ryan and saying, "It's a very long line." Further on, "Very very long line," Turning the corner, "Very very very long line," further on "Very very very very long line," and at the end, "God damn it." :D

Heading into the merchandise after waiting for Lee to be frisked, dunno why no-one else did, we loked at all the stuff. Only 60 odd people were in it so we knew we weren't going to get a good view. We headed upstairs into the ballroom.

"Whit?" I said, (My slang for a confused "What?")

"Guess we are getting a good view," replied Sean. Only a small group of people were at the stage. We walked over and waited for the gig to begin. Oh yeah Billy Talents.

"Cantenbury!" Shouted people around us. They were pretty good an enjoyable I must say. Being the beginning I didn't really wave or clap my hands. An hour later, CancerBats. Dear Lord, that was a great band to be at the gig. I'm not into heavy heavy heavy heavy. . . .metal, yeah I do do that, I won't say very or really for stuff like that, I just repeat the word. Gladly by this time we had been pushed 6 rows back and avoided the crowd dives and spitting upon, both done by the main singer. Or screamer. Whatever you call it. By this time I was more comfortable with clapping and such. After CancerBats finished, there was a 20 minute wait for Billy Talents. The exact moment they came on. . . well. . .

.

No I didn't video it, but that's the gig and it's good quality.

Ryan and me had been pushed to the very front of the stage. Good to some extent. Leaping fat men, forgive me being spiteful, "Overweight" shall I say. We were being treated like wild animals. Jesus, it was worse than a football match or whatever, worse that rugby, you name it. We were being pushed, elbowed, jumped on, shoved attacked, crushed. They were animals I swear! CancerBats only had a slight amount of this, after a guy infront of us, "Overweight with a beard" (Looked cool though) decided to run towards the stage, starting pushing from people who didn't want to move. After all these songs my arms were killing me. My jacket and jumper were wrapped around my waist, I always had one or two hands in the air, but when there was only one, I was holding onto my jacket pocket, holding my wallet and I pod, making sure that they wouldn't fall if my pocket opened. Surrounded by girls rubbing against you though was a treat. Girls who are reading this, don't take this badly, if it were men doing it to you, you wouldn't be bothered in the slightest. No I'm not a pervert!

I think . . .

The night ended with valuble lessons.

"Do not be fooled gentlemen, large tits will only get you so far! It's about character and substance that matters in a woman!" Those were the wise words of Ben.

Thus our night came to an end after the encore, The main one being Fallen Leaves. We ended happy and smug with how our night went. We returned home to Dumfries, during these nocturnal hours, midnight being our favourite as fog began to materialise down these lonely country roads with fallen autumn leaves and trees, nothing but darkness and mist ahead. Stories of Mothman appearing began and we basically started scaring eachother. We arrived home safely and all was well. A night I'll never forget.

.

See ya!
